Hello Everyone and hope your week is going well.
We had a wonderful response to the correspondence course, have managed to get everyone registered and are now ready to get started. We have a group of students from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Hungary, Spain, France and South Africa, so quite a global little group! I did imagine the scenario of a similar live class with everyone chatting and introducing themselves from different parts of the world. Who knows one day we might achieve this?
The students have their own private blog where they are able to introduce themselves and post pictures of their work so you can imagine it is great fun and games – I fortunately am able to observe the whole proceedings from the comfort of my desk in Cape town:) This is one of the pros of running an online class versus a live class, is that the students have plenty of time to get to know each other and chat about everything except stitching before the class starts as we are not limited to a time frame. I find the whole process fascinating and can’t believe what technology affords us these days. It promises to be a very interesting exercise and now that I have established it works (I think?) will be offering more courses in the future.
One or two of the students have asked to post the class progress on their blogs so you can follow – maybe they could mention who they are and details of their blogs for the benefit of those who are interested.
For those of you who missed out on registration for this class I will be running another class possibly in about 3 months time. It depends very much on whether the majority of current students have completed the course as to whether I am able to take on a second class.
Some of you have asked to purchase the class kit – having given this some thought I would prefer to keep this one exclusive to the workshop but promise to make a similar design available in kit form asap.
Next week I hope to post the cover of the new book Needle Painting Embroidery: Fresh Ideas For Beginners, and finally be able to give you some release dates.

I now have everything I need to get started. The only thing that will limit my progress will be time which I am afraid you can’t buy but I will try my best to keep up with everyone.

I think its such a crazy world —when you think that strangers from all over can get together online and create friendships because they have a common purpose in life —embroidery! They create the common purpose irrespective of differences—why can this not happen with politics ?????? Well done to all those with the drive and Trish for promoting . LOL xxxooo
Dear Trish, I have been following your blog and website now for some 12 months and have enjoyed all the information that you so generously contribute. I am a new embroiderer even though I have been cross stitching for many years – I am now enjoying the challenge of thread painting, and I realise that I have a lot to learn. Your online class really appeals to me as I live in country South Australia and have limited access to both materials and classes. I would be very interested in taking your next course, I had intended to enrol in the first class but was away when the enrolments were available and the class has filled very quickly.

It would be wonderful if those of us who were not able to take this course for various reasons, but are interested and would maybe manage the next round, to be able to visit the blogs of the ladies who would like to share their progress. It would be fantastic to keep up to date with their on going progress. Do you think some may publish their blog addresses for those of us who are interested?
