DVD The Long & The Short Of It

Proposed new DVD cover

Hello Everyone.  This week I thought I would share with you some news on my DVD.  Sally Milner Publishing in Australia will be taking over the production and distribution of the DVD as from next month –  and the good news is that you will be able to purchase it along with my books at any online store such as Amazon and through a local stockist in your Country.  No more waiting for the post from South Africa – however it will also still be available through my wesite, so easier access for you all.

It will have a fresh new cover something like this – same DVD but with a new face.

I am still waiting for news on the release of the new book and promise to let you know as soon as I have news from the publisher.  It will be released in Australia then UK first and thereafter in the USA but I will have copies for sale on my wesbite as soon as I receive stock.

Next week I plan to start a series of helpful hints on Needle Painting Embroidery – such as information on fabrics, threads etc.  Untill then have a wonderful week and happy stitching.

Trish

I want to buy your dvd The Long and Short Of It.
I’m living in South Africa and don’t know there to buy it.

Please can you assist me were I can get one.

    Thank you

  2. Cada dia me asombra mas la belleza de los trabajos que nos enseñas ,no se si llegare a hacer un bordado asi de perfecto,de todas formas gracias por compartir tan bellas cosas.

  3. This DVD is a wonderful tool for not only learning but also for inspiration and motivation! Your teaching method on the DVD is friendly, very easy to follow and understand, being able to watch your technique in action is sooo helpful, specially for visual learners like myself.
I do have two of your books: “The Long and Short Stitch Embroidery: A Collection of Flowers” – a must have for beginners in this technique like myself 🙂 – and “Crewel and Surface Embroidery: Inspirational Floral Designs”.
Can’t wait for the new one to be release! 😉

  4. Dear Trish,

I love needlepainting, but I’m on a disability pension, so the DVD would be a big purchase for me. I’d describe myself as at the beginning of intermediate, rather than a beginner.

Would the DVD provide good value for me, or do you think it better to wait and get into one of your on-line courses? (which I can’t wait to do!!!!)

For your interest, the next needlepainting that I plan to do is a reproduction of a 17thC embroidered bookcover, with a lovely heavy sculptured surround – tho I think all that couching of purl may just drive me mad!

I’m very much looking forward to the ‘Tips and Tricks’. Thankyou so much for sharing your invaluable knowledge with us 🙂

    1. The Online class is a one on one comprehensive of the technique but you are paying for the individual assessment. However, the DVD is a pre-requisite of the online course as we use it for demos. The DVD includes everything you would want to know about the technique and is visual with high definition video – it is more like being in a workshop except that you are able to zoom in on each detail in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. You can refer to it again and again, it is my most comprehensive work to date. If you are on a pension you may want to consider a copy of the new book Needle Painting Embroidery: Fresh Ideas for beginners which is based on the DVD. I hope this helps you make a decision and wish you all the best with your 17th century embroidery, sounds gorgeous. Best wishes Trish

  5. I also have 2 of your books, but I need visual! So that will be my next purchase! I also have 1 if your kits and afraid to start
Your work is so beautiful, its hard to imagine mine even coming close, with the DVD maybe I will take it on!!!!

    1. Have a go Cathy you will be fine – yes the DVD would probably be a big help as takes you through from the beginning. best wishes Trish

  6. Good Morning Trish,
I bought your DVD from USA but it took over 1 month to get it as they were out of it. I really like to see the stitches done before my eyes, it is well explained and clear.
I also own 2 of your books and I love them.
Thanks for all your help with us Beginners, personnally, I need it badly.
    France from Canada.

    1. Sorry it took so long for the DVD to arrive – I always have copies available on my website for sale and they would get there a lot quicker – for future reference. Glad you enjoy the books. happy stitching. Trish

  7. Does the DVD have the same info as the book? If so, then the book would be what I’d like!!

I would rather hold and turn pages.

Any chance of a personalized book??

    Gentle as you go
    Marny

    1. No Marny DVD and book not related at all. You can find more info on the blog under DVD review and an earlier posting on the Book Needle Painting Embroidery: Fresh Ideas For Beginners. Best Trish

    1. Hi Marny I presume you mean you want to be put down for the new book (not the DVD?) I will put your name on the list. Kind regards Trish
