I would like to introduce you all to a friend of mine who does the most exquisite embroidery for film and television. You can view some of his work by clicking on the link below or on his website link on the main page.
Thomas has designed and embroidered costumes for films such as Robin Hood, Phantom Of The Opera, Pirates Of The Carribean, to name a few plus some well known Theatre and TV productions. They are of course machine embroidered, it would be too time consuming to stitch by hand but his designs are inspired by hand embroidery designs, he has my books and a copy of the DVD which he says have helped him to progress in his technique. (I think he is just being kind). Thomas is a master in period and traditional embroidery and has a tremendous knowledge of his subject, I am sure he would be happy to chat or answer any questions.
Thomas and I met online a few years ago and have maintained contact – I am a great admirer of his work and find it makes watching movies such as Robin Hood so muchmore interesting when I can scan the costumes to see his delightful works.

When watching movies or theater, everything is of interest to me – not just the story or the actors. The costumes have always intrigued me. Now I will watch for your name in the credits (which I always watch!)
