New Miniature Kits

Hello Everyone

The first two miniature kits are finally here!  Hopefully in time for any Christmas projects you may have in mind or to put in that special someone’s Christmas stocking.

Miniature Bluebirds & Daisies
Miniature Attic Pansies

Both designs were reproduced from an antique Victorian gift booklet by Charlotte Murray and are no bigger than 6 x 7cm (2.4 x 2.6 inches).   It has been a joy to stitch these little designs, what do you think of the cute vintage style packaging?  My daughter who is a graphic designer helped me create the covers – we had such fun reproducing the Victorian embellishments.  Taking into consideration all the feedback on fabric I decided on a Southern Belle Muslin with 200 thread count – it is wonderful to stitch on as allows for very precise placement of stitches, but I recommend that you use a backing fabric for extra firm support which is included in the kit.  This fine cotton fabric allows the user more flexibility with the final use such as embroidery items, quilting etc, some suggestions for making up your finished item are included in the booklet.

The new instruction booklets now include a stitch diagram showing the exact placement of colours for each aspect and clear step by step instructions for each step.  The thread list includes substitutes for both Anchor & DMC stranded cotton so it will be easy for you to obtain the relevant threads.

The kits are available from the new ETSY SHOP here.  I would love to have your feedback on the new designs.   Next week I hope to be able to give you some info on the new Colour Schemes booklet which is very much in the pipeline with friends stitching up motifs using the schemes to test them out, in the meantime wherever you are have a wonderful weekend and many happy stitching hours.  Trish

  1. J’aime beaucoup vos livres que j’achète. Écrivez-en encore et encore. Oh les jolis oiseaux!

  2. Merci, infinitement. Vous etes merveilleuse et je vous considère ma maitresse. Je suis un professeur italien qui vit en France et qui, après beaucoup de recherche et d’écriture a voulu se donner à la broderie.

  3. Trish, your designs are always gorgeous, but these are just something else. Those little bluebirds are to die for. Packaging – love it!

  4. These miniatures are all that I hoped they would be. Thank you for sorting the pansies download for me. All printed and set now, which is a relief. I’ll have to wait until pension day (this Friday) to complete my order, so until then…Cheers, Kath

  5. Just went over to etsy and ordered the sweet little birdies. I’m a beginner and hope the tiny ness of this project will make it possible for me. Love all your beautiful things, although our birds and butterflies here in Mississippi look different than yours! I’m hoping I can modify colors a bit to make them more familiar to us over here.

    1. Thanks Evelyn – am sure the wildlife all over the world differ from place to place, if you are able to adapt them that would be great. I use a bit of artistic license to stitch my butterflies:) Trish

  6. These are lovely Trish! I will definately order one. I like the idea that they can be finished more quickly than a bigger project and that they are easily taken with one travelling.

By the way the temperature here is 6 degrees celsius. So I’m sure that makes you feel warmer!

  7. Trish, these designs are exquisite! I love them! So much detail, it’s just amazing how you are able to do it!! 🙂

  8. OMG how adorable these kits are. I love the packaging, too, it reminds me of an old Victorian house we lived in during a stint in Ohio.

  9. Hi Trish. I enjoy your thread painting. I use Finca/Presencia Embroidery floss, made in Spain. I order floss from Zweigart/Needleworker’s Delight, 1-800-931-4545. When you embroidery with this floss, you will never use any other floss on the planet!! Try this, send for color card, pat/USA/Tx

  10. Fantastic, it is beautiful !! I am very happy you did more pictures so that it is clear which colour to use and where to use it ! I have ordered the two little birds, which are so cute !! I won’t have the time to make them immediatly, however I wanted them !!! 🙂

  11. Miniatures are pleasing to me! I know how to do embroidery – but have never yet done your needlepainting.

I would love to try the two dear birds! Think I can, I think I can … hmmmm, do you?

  12. Thank you for making up these kits. I have already been onto Etsy and bought them – I can not wait to get them. I am going to try and get them made up over the Christmas holiday. Enjoy your day. Jo
