Online Donations

Good morning everyone, hope this finds you well this Monday morning.  I know most of you are in the middle of summer overseas but we had snow yesterday and it is freezing!

HELP CENTRE

I have started work on the new book and the cold weather is the ideal time to bunker down and get stitching – so I will of necessity be away from my computer as much as possible.  There is a great Help Centre in both the Digital Store & Embroidery store with FAQ that will answer your questions, but if you are not able to find the help you need send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

DONATIONS FOR VICTORIA FALLS EMBROIDERY GROUP

The donate facility for the Victoria Falls Embroidery group is now available in the Digital Store and the Embroidery store.  You will receive the normal order receipt by email – so you know we have received your donation.  There are of course no shipping costs involved – but if you add your donation to an order, you will be charged shipping costs for the items that need to be shipped.  I will keep you informed as to what the proceeds are used for.

Gail has asked me to let you know how much your support is appreciated and promised to send me regular updates on the group’s progress.  We have decided to make the donation facility available for 3 months to give the embroidery ladies time to train others and establish the business.  It is important that they become self sufficient, so once they are on their feet and have begun to sell their embroidery items, they will be able to purchase their own supplies with the proceeds from the sales.

Once again a big thank you for the overwhelming love and support.

Have a wonderful week.

Trish

  1. So happy to contribute to a good cause. Thank you for getting this going. Makes my heart feel good. Already sent contribution…. hugs

  2. Hi Trish. Writing from Southern Ontario, Canada where we celebrated our nation’s 151st Birthday July 01 in sweltering 37C temperatures! Canadians are accustomed to the cold & snow but this heat & humidity is difficult to adjust to!
Have just sent a small donation to aid the embroidery co-op with hopes that it will help to purchase supplies that are so greatly needed. A huge thanks to you & best wishes for the embroidery ladies.

  3. SNOW!!!!! It,s July 2nd. And where I live, Redding in No. California, USA , It’s a boiling 109! Half our state is on fire. I want to come to your neck of the woods. We thought after last year’s devastating fires, there was nothing left to burn! Wrong.

Can,t wait to see your new book. And it,s a great thing you are doing for that stitching group. Will be sending some $ to help out.

A thank you Trish for all the joy and education your books have given me.

    1. My sympathies Mary hope the fires are under control – not pleasant when it is hot and there is smoke and heat from the fires, we experienced the same thing last summer. The ash got into all my embroidery kits and we had to re-pack which was not fun. Thank you for your kind donation it will be much appreciated😊

  4. So pleased that you’re doing this. I lived in Zambia and my children were born there. My tiny embroidery group of 3 have made a small donation. My children, grandchildren and I hope to visit Zambia for my children’s 50th birthdays in the next couple of years. They were babies when we left. I will visit Gail’s shop. Elaine Morton ps. it’s 30° here in England

    1. That’s lovely and so appreciated Elaine. I used to visit Zambia as a child – Ndola. A big thank you to your embroidery group especially from a fellow African:)

  5. If you could pass onto Gail that Rhodesian Ridgeback designs might sell well. I know I would buy at least one but the breed clubs might also for their fund raisers. Thank you.

  6. Trish, I know you are in South Africa, but SNOW?  Good grief, can you tell me where the snow is falling so that if I ever get to visit your part of Africa, I can avoid it during the Southern Hemisphere winter?

You must be around Cape Town, which is around the latitude of Perth in Western Australia, where snow is a word that is found in Australia’s eastern states.

    Regards,

    Robyn Wright

    1. Hi Robyn

Cape Town. We sometimes get snow on the mountains – it has been a particularly cold season, but you are right it does not happen much in the rest of Africa😊

  7. Hi Trish, I received your last letter and went to give my little contribution for the embroidery group. I am happy to make this small gesture. With us it’s the beginning of summer and yesterday we had 30 ° which for us is very high because we are in the north of France where it is not usual to have such temperatures . We work less and less well in the summer. Enjoy the winter to work. friendships Claude
