  2. Dear Trish,
I live in the U.S. Do you have any online classes? If so, could you please let me know when and the cost? Thank you for your time. I absolutely adore your work. I have two books already and am about to order my third one. I read somewhere that you have tutorials at your website. Is this true? I am a novice watercolor painter. I can tell you are an accomplished one. It seems the painting lends itself to your type of embroidery which is spectacular! I’ve never seen anything like it! One aside. Is there any way to use DMC floss for the projects in your “Crewel and Surface Embroidery”? I noticed you use wool for a number of your projects but, I am partial to embroidery floss. I hope to hear from you soon…
    Sincerely,
    Priscilla Cooksey

    1. Hi Priscilla sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately I don’t have any online classes at present but I do have tutorials and videos. You can find them here: https://trishbembroidery.com/collections/pdf-lessons-tutorials

Thank you for your kind words about my painting I am also just a novice, but love it! I don’t use wool at all, only DMC stranded cotton and sometimes silk. Wishing you all the best for your stitching. Trish

  4. Do you have workshops anywhere else because I could catch up with you in Australia or Dubai.

    1. Hi unfortunately it is very difficult for me to get to other parts of the world to teach as I have to obtain a visa for each visit and it is not easy! I do sometimes teach at BATB in Adelaide Australia, the next convention is in September 2018. Due to work and family time commitments I generally run one or two workshops a year, this year I am teaching in Italy but the classes are full, if you are in South Africa you could enquire about the IGhali COnvention which is in Aug/Sep 2018 in Cape town. You can contact Penny Cornell who is organising it, I will be teaching 3 days of classes. Penny

  6. Dear Trish,
Louise Grimbeek and I were in your class at Ighali in 2014. Louise bought your zentangle bird and needs some help in embroidering it. I wonder if you have put out a DVD on whitework as I would like to give her something like that for her birthday. Otherwise I will order another of your needle painting kits. I wonder if you could suggest one as she is very proficient in embroidery. Are you teaching at Ighali this year? Regards Sandra Kloppers

  7. i have the book that you are using to teach the class, is it okay for me to join and follow along since I have the materials, threads and the book, “Fresh Ideas for Beginner”?

  8. I received my DVD yesterday and am about to view it. I am so excited about learning this technique. I waited for the DVD so I would not begin in a wrong way. Please come to se Tennessee, USA for classes. Sandy

  9. Am interested in correspondence course. Please can u advise me when u are ready to hold ur next one. I live in Durban. Do u perhaps have a book that I can teach myaelf from. I already do machine embroidery and have done lots of simple embroidery. I am a quilter fibre artist. Many thanks. Jill

  10. Thank you for the information about the kinds of stitches. I know that somewhere in my house I have a book with all the kinds of stitches in it. I just can’t find it. I have been embroidering since I was a teen, and I am now 68. I will get the one you recommend if I can’t find mine. It is crazy how I can forget these stitches. But I did look up the split stitch on the computer and found out how to do it. Thanks again. Sandra

  11. Do you have a basic book about the kinds of stitches you use such as the split stitch, or may I find this online or in a very basic embroidery book? Sandra

    1. Hello Sandra. All my books include a stitch glossary with the stitches needed for needle painting such as split, French knots etc. If you want a good book on all the stitch techniques you could get the A-Z of Embroidery stitches by Country Bumpkin Publications. Trish

  12. Bonjour,
I would like to folow your online classes, I am a beginer.
Will you please keep me informed ?
    Amicalement Gisele

  13. It sounds like you are very busy. However, I can hardly wait to learn what your schedule looks like for 2012. When do you think you will be able to post it?

    1. Hi Sandra sorry you are not able to access the classes page – perhaps you can try again here: http://trishburr.co.za/content/product?page=1

I run correspondence classes about every 6 months – the last one was June – Dec 2011 and the next one will probably be in 2012. I am not sure exactly when registration will open because I am away teaching overseas the first 3 months of 2012 so it will probably be June next year. I will post information on it about 3 months in advance. Best wishes. Trish
