Colour Scheme Booklet Is Here

Hello Everyone

I did plan to post on STAGE 3 of our How To Design An Embroidery project but time has run away with me this week as I prepare to leave for Paris, so it will have to wait till my return end of February.

Meantime I have some exciting news!  The long awaited booklet TRADITIONAL EMBROIDERY COLOUR SCHEMES is here at last.  This is a 56 page paperback booklet sized to fit neatly into your handbag (or purse I think the Americans call it).  The booklet includes 24 colour schemes which are based on traditional paintings with palettes and a small stitched example of each – the project outlines for each little project are included at the back of the book so if you want to use them for something please feel free.   The thread palettes are scanned from real DMC thread colours so there can be no confusion as to possible matches in print colours.  It has been perfect bound so lies flat when open and there is an additional Project planner included at the back for you to make a note of schemes and possible future projects, birthday gifts etc.  The best part is that this booklet does not only apply to needle painting embroidery but could also be used for any type of needlework, beading, quilting, arts and crafts.  As you know it has taken many months to complete but hopefully the end result is worth it and will make a useful addition to your library and inspire many beautiful colour schemes.

There are two more additions to the range :

INTRODUCTION TO MINIATURE NEEDLE PAINTING.  THis is a 20 page booklet that provides a thorough introduction on how to stitch needle painting embroidery in miniature.  The miniature kits have proved very popular not only to embroiderers but also to non stitchers who have never done embroidery before, so I felt it would be a helpful guide for beginners but also those of you who are familiar with the technique of long & short but would like to re-unite with an old favourite and learn how to apply it to miniature forms.  Although the technique is similar it does require a bit of manipulating of the stitches to help fit them into such tiny forms!

In the book you will find everything  you need to get underway from preparation, materials, methods and  Trish’s top tips on how to enhance your embroidery.  I have included a step by step project, Vintage Robin & Pansy to stitch – this is suitable for beginners and will prove useful as preparation for the other miniature kits.

VINTAGE MINIATURES – VICTORIAN CHILDREN ON BRANCH.

This is the 3rd kit in the Vintage Miniature range reproduced from an antique French Postcard.

All these products are available from the Etsy Store, but unfortunately I will have to close shop from 8th – 21st February whilst I am away in Paris, so orders can only be placed within the next week.

A NOTE TO FRENCH READERS.  The good news  is that my trusty translator, Dominique in Paris and I have been cooking up a storm and the Introduction To Needle Painting Booklet plus many other kits will soon be available in the Etsy Store with French Translation.  These will be available for purchase after my workshops at L’Aiguille En Fete. in 2 weeks time. Meanwhile, wherever you are in the world, be it winter, spring or summer have a wonderful weekend and many happy stitching hours.  I will see you on my return!  Trish
