Hello everyone

This week I have the great pleasure of introducing GIULIANA RICAMA. This is a beautiful Italian needlework magazine but now available in English!

I first met the lovely Nicoletta and her partner in 2017 on a trip to Verona, Italy where I did a one day workshop. The Italian ladies were so welcoming and full of enthusiasm-it was such a special day for all of us, one which I will never forget. You can read about it here.

Needlework is a popular craft in Italy, the ladies have been stitching for decades and their skills are passed down through the generations, so it is not unusual to see people of all ages stitching. These two young ladies who were both in the publishing industry decided to start their own needlework magazine to promote and advance these patterns and skills.

They have been established for some years but recently took the huge leap to produce an additional copy in English, in the hope of spreading their wings and reaching out globally. You can find more information and order single copies here.

The magazine caters for many techniques in embroidery including Assisi, Temari, Tulle, hardanger and Needlepainting. The magazine also focuses on some unusual traditional embroidery techniques and also more contemporary works which are quite different to other designs seen on the market. I was asked to contribute a project for this edition which you will find in the copy of the magazine.
