Hello everyone
I thought I should address my lack of blog posts and apologize for my absence in the last few months.
Factors outside of my control have caused business to slow down considerably. The introduction of customs tariffs on imports and exports, as well as Geopolitical conflicts, have impacted small businesses worldwide and many small embroidery businesses have been forced to close their doors. We are no exception, however our doors are still open and PDF patterns are available for download without the need for shipping. I appreciate your continued support and please be assured that I will continue throughout this difficult period as best I can and know that “this too will pass:
I have not been resting on my laurels but working hard on a new book: “Birds in Embroidery” for delivery at the end of this year. I will be able to share more on this later on in the year.
In the meantime, I would love to share with you some stunning embroidery work by Đoàn Thị Ngọc Lợi in Vietnam. She is currently running a small embroidery teaching group based in her hometown in Vietnam, combining local in-person classes with small online sessions. Her local town is small, and she aims to help local people—many of whom come from modest financial backgrounds—learn a traditional craft to earn a livelihood or support their families. Her classes also extend to a few international students as well as underprivileged learners from developing regions like Colombia, Ecuador, and Jamaica. She offers these classes completely free for those in hardship, and charge only a very minimal fee for others just to cover basic running costs.
It is people like you Đoàn who inspire and support our efforts to make the world a more beautiful place though our embroidery. I love the way she has incorporated it on different items such as clothing.

sorry to read that your business is also suffering from those ‘industrious ideas coming out of washington, but i hope this will turn when the us-population starts thinking – i love the pictures you enclosed in your mail – they are proof the beauty in embroidery still exists. – good luck with all your plans and keep sharing them. – thanks
